Anche l’Argentario nasce come isola, ma nel corso dei secoli l’azione congiunta delle correnti marine e del fiume Albegna ha creato due tomboli, il Tombolo della Giannella ed il Tombolo della Feniglia, che hanno unito l’isola alla terra ferma, formando nel contempo la Laguna di Orbetello.
